Sparkler Filter

The horizontal sparkler type filter is the most versatile filtration system for solid – liquid separation It can also be used apart from filtration, with the help of filter aids for giving a sparkling effect to the liquids filtered.

Salient Features

  • The filter plate is provided with a filter ring for better sealing
  • The filter is completely welded to the filter ring to make a crevice free surface most suited for pharmaceutical and no contamination applications,
  • The perforated screen is provided with edge support for better life of filter media
  • The interlocking Cup (spacer) is completely welded to the filter plate to make one piece construction.
  • It is faster to assemble and open due to minimum open parts
  • Central feeding from the bottom ensures that the unfiltered liquid does not come in contact with the vessel hence no solid remains in the vessel.

  • Available in S. S. 316 L and S. S. 304 construction in various configurations.
  • Single pass operation with complete recovery of solids.
  • Complete product recovery, no separate scavenging operation required.
  • He filter plates are completely welded to the ring to avoid contamination
  • The interlocking cups are welded to the filter plate to make it a one piece construction, for ease in cleaning and operation.
  • The complete assembly is a closed system, thereby elminating the danger of spillage, gas dispersion, etc.
  • Solid cake recovery possible by drying from the bottom purging valve.
  • Uniform cake distribution on all the filter plates.
  • It comes with a variety of pumps like centrifugal, lobe. gear. etc.
  • All gaskets are food grade silicon as per CGMP gudelines.
  • Optionally available with steam jacket for heating during filtration.
  • Complete unit can be dismantled for washing and sterilizing, thus making it suitable for pharmaceutical applications.
  • Variety of filtration media can filter aids can be used depending on application.

Standards Types Sparkler Filter

CONSTRUCTION

The filters are made out of Stainless steel in S.S. 304. 316 & 316 L qualities. The cartridge assembly consists of a number of disc type filter plates with perforated support screen filter media and interlocking cups placed one on top of the other and supported at the bottom by a cartridge plate. The entire assembly is held together with the help of side tie rods which are of” T ” type construction for longer life. The filter together with the pump and interconnecting piping is mounted on a sturdy base clodded with S.S. sheets and provided with castors for movability. The filter can also be supplied without pump, where external positive pressure is available.

SCAVENGING OPERATION:

The unfitered liquid remaining inside the shell at the end of filtration can be filtered by scavenging operation opening the single plate valve and applying pressure from the vent using compressed air or nitrogen / inert gas, so that even the last drop of unfiltered liquid passes through the bottom plate It is avalable in 14″ & 18* Dia models as a standard and con be provided in 33’Dia model on request
